How to get paint stains out of clothes?

I got some white paint on a black polo, and it didn't come out in the wash. Anyone know how to get the paint out? It's an expensive shirt.How to get paint stains out of clothes?
If you already put it in the dryer it will be hard to impossible to get out. If you have only washed it but not dried it, the type of paint might matter if it is latex or acrylic based... but here are some ideas I have heard/used in the past...





#1 try to keep it wet if it hasn't dried out yet...


latex:


make a solution of dish soap and dishwasher detergent (test small spot first!!) and work it into the stain, rinse, keep repeating until stain is gone





goo gone or OOPS! are commercial products that might help





if cotton or polyester try oven cleaner, let it set 15 to 30 mins then rinse rinse rinse





Oil based:whatever thinner is recommended by the manufacturer


turpentine (when all else fails)





work from the back of the stain... cover the area you are working!!


once stain is removed, saturate with laundry detergent, soak in hottest water for that fabric and soak overnight, scrub and launder





1/2 and 1/2 water and ammonia

Water down some gas in spray bottle.


Once it out wash with extra soap and softner
Please use thinner for paint. It will do wonders.
