it depends what the thickness is and the finish.
if its prefinished 5/16 flooring, I doubt it as the skin is very thin and aft sanding ther may not be enough left to stain and get a uniform stain job.
if its solid wood, go for it!
you can always try a spot in an out of the way place like a closet to see if it stains properly.
if its real wood, u can do anything u'd normally do to any piece of wood. if its not, i wouldn't recommend u do anything but replace it. good luck!
