Leather stain (dye) and pigment (paint) are 2 different things. One is for aniline style leathers and the other for pigmented/protected leathers. They do not work the other way round. What is it you are trying to do?Leather stain paint?

You can get pens like marker pens to cover up any marks on leather, without getting too technical.
