How could I remove paint from a couch without causing a permanent stain?

While painting...I got paint on the living room couch. How could I remove paint from a couch without causing a permanent stain?
IF ITS SMALL GET ART PAINT AND TOUCH IT UP.....IF ITS LARGE AND OIL BASED TRY A DAB OF TURP AND QUICKLY WASH OFF WITH WARM WATER AND RUG SHAMPOO...IF WATER BASED TRY SCRATCHING OFF GENTLY WITH A SEWING NEEDLE..IF ALL ELSE FAILS KEEP A THROW PILLOW OR A FANCY THROW OVER IT...How could I remove paint from a couch without causing a permanent stain?
oh my..and is it oil...keep rubbing on it
if it's water base paint warm soap and water. you need to wash and dry, wash and dry. repeating the process until the paint comes off. It's going to be messy, don't let this scare you just keep doing it, it will come off.
Clean it with turpentine. If that leaves a discoloration, cover it back with the paint.
You don't think paint is a permanent stain? Keep an eye open for one of those Billy Mays commercials. He's always got some whiz-bang product he's trying to hype.
it all depends if it's oil paint use paint thinner . if it's latex paint use oop's or goof off good luck
