How do I get paint stains off of bricks?

I was outside painting my houses' door with white rustoleum paint and some spatters (little spatters) got on the red brick stones. what is the best way to get it off?

I tried a strong solvent called ';goofoff'; but it didn't do anything. I tried scraping it with brillo pads and got nothing.

does anyone know what I should use?

BEST ANSWER goes to the answer that gets that **** off my bricks. How do I get paint stains off of bricks?
Sorry to say but you'll actually have to rent a power washer or sand blaster. Since the brick is porous, that paint has soaked in and you really need to ';sand'; away the layers that contain the paint. How do I get paint stains off of bricks?
use peel-away. ive seen some great results from their products and i believe most of them are water based. their website is

Paint thinner?
If all else fails, paint the bricks another color and make sure not to get any on your nice white doors
Try these solutions!

Old House Web suggests a lacquer thinner for oil-base paints or Goof Off for LATEX paint, followed by scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush, followed by a double-strength mix of Trisodium Phosphate in very hot water.

Handyman USA suggests trying pressure washing first (other sites caution against this for older brick), then Acetone (nail polish remover), then lacquer thinner or paint remover.

Ace Hardware recommends Citrustrip. This is a fairly ';green'; product, although not as strong as some other cleaners.

On a forum at Old House, Citrus Strip was recommended again, as was Prosoco.

A Dremel site suggested mechanical removal with a Dremel and a #952 grinding stone. To me this sounds appropriate for drips, but not large areas.

A forum entry at Savvy Home Advice, and some miscellaneous entries recommend ';Peel Away';.
nail polish remover!
Sand Blast them or if they are REALLY SMAll use a sander..
Muratic acid will do the trick real well. It will also brighten up the bricks to look new again. You can buy it at most hardware, building supply stores
go to the site I mention below
Paint thinner. Just keep rubbing and it should take it off.

May take you an hour or so.
Plain ol Alcohol, the crap you put on cuts not the crap you drink.
primer
I would rent a power washer and use that. You have to be carefull though not to concentrate on one spot for too long it will carve into your bricks and ruin them.
try a power washer
Call a painter!!! A pro- and ask him how he would do it. And use drop cloths everywhere, and be sure to tap both sides of the tip of the brush on the inside of the can before you take it out after dipping. That way the paint stays in the brush.
Wash said bricks in urine.
two choices-paint remover/stripper or lacquer thinner
