I would like to paint a design on my harwood floor? What kind of paint or stain can be used?

Try this link. It has a lot of idea for painting hardwood floors. You can apply acrylic paint to hardwood floors but you must seal it with polyurethane. This protects the paint from being scratched. Oil based paint can be used as well. Just remember it stains clothes and is very toxic to breath, so good ventilation is required. This paint must be sealed with polyurethane as well.
