Is there a special brown paint that can cover the sides of the stairs since carpet will cover the top and front. I have tried staining them but it looks horrible. I need to paint it, but not white.Paint for stairs that looks like stain?
you should be able to use any good quality interior paint that you might want. there isn't any type of special paint for stairs. if you were painting the treads themselves that was going to receive foot traffic there are some options to consider but I don't think these would apply in our case.
