How do i get paint stains out of my brown cargo pants?

Paint thinner will only work on wet oil based paint, not dry or latex paint. I would go to the home center and go to the paint department and by some of the items like Goo Gone and others that claim to remove dried paint and try them. Soaking in TSP, sold at home center, it is an industrial cleaner, may get it out but it may hurt the pants too.How do i get paint stains out of my brown cargo pants?
If the paint is dry attempt to pick it off with a very sharp thin blade knife. If it is wet still soak it in warm water not cold then apply a paste of oxy and scrub. It may take several times to get the paint out. If a stain is left, but no paint try washing in washing machine in cold water with a shout color catcher and detergent. How do i get paint stains out of my brown cargo pants?

How do you remove wall paint stains on metallic painted car?

A clay bar is one of the best things to use. If the paint is water based and is a drip wet the area and use a finger nail to peel it up. If the paint is oil based the use wd40 to remove or you can buy a solvent from an auto body supply place such as 3M adhesive remover and that will do the job. Just remember to wash and wax the car afterwardHow do you remove wall paint stains on metallic painted car?
I don't know about car enamel, but it's pretty tough stuff because it's baked on. I had some painters splash latex wall paint on my brand new cabinets and I got it off with soap and water and one of those soft plastic dish scrubbers. Basically I just sort of ';sanded'; it off with the plastic scrubber. It did take a little pressure, but in the end, it didn't dammage the cabinets. I think this approach would work on a car. You could try it on a less noticable area fist to see if it scratched the car's paint.

I don't know what you would do if it was oil-based paint.

Good Luck. How do you remove wall paint stains on metallic painted car?
A Clay Bar is good for paint overspray. You can buy a ';Mothers'; clay bar kit at any auto parts store. Also body shop supply stores has an assortmant of clay types. The clay bar is soft and like puddy. You will spray a soapy water or something and rub the clay bar across the car's paint. The clay bar will shear the higher paint off the car and the old paint will mostly end up in the clay bar.

Can i paint or stain laminated kitchen cabinets?

Before starting any sanding, be sure you know what type of laminate you are dealing with.

You are best off by washing with a strong solution of TSP (available at any paint store), then applying a primer such as BIN, which is made for, among other things, priming ';slick'; surfaces; such as masonite and glossy oil base or latex paint. One or two coats of primer should suffice. Do not try to tint the BIN, as it has a shellac base, and a lot of tints won’t mix well with it. If you want to try to tint the primer a little, try KILZ II, it has a latex base.

Be sure you use a high quality paint, with at least a semi-gloss finish.

It may be possible to stain the cabinets with a “gel” type stain, but I don’t think you’ll get the results you want. Can i paint or stain laminated kitchen cabinets?
Your cabinets are probably melamine, which can be painted after cleaning with a TSP solution. Then using an oil based paint and a foam roller. Your hardware store will carry TSP and an oil based melamine paint especially formulated for painting melamine material.

The difference in appearance of your cabinets will make you glad you went through the effort. Can i paint or stain laminated kitchen cabinets?
You can paint them, but I doubt they would take a stain. You must lightly sand the surface so that the paint will stick, however. It may require 2 coats. You should also remove the cabinets to paint them.
you can lightly sand, prime, and then paint these cabinets. i would use 120 grit sandpaper. for best result's, i would use an oil-based primer and paint from any local hardware store.
to paint them you have to first scuff them with light sand paper.to stain them is a four step process and unless you are a pro they don't come out a good as the seller tells you .better off to sand lightly and paint them
you can paint, but not stain laminate its a plastic

Should I paint or stain new pergola?

I live in the Chicago land area, and want my pergola white. It is treated pine, and has weathered over the summer and winter. what would be the best to use, stain or paint? I hope to hear from someone that is either paint smart or works with paints that can give me some knowledgeable advice. ThanksShould I paint or stain new pergola?
I would paint it, since white stain is not going to hold up to the weather. Prime it with an oil based primer, such as Benjamin Moore Fresh Start alkyd. Follow that up with 2 coats of Alkyd Low Lustre Metal and Wood Enamel. It will look great, and will stand up to Chicago winters. Hope this helps.

I would assume, that since it has been painted, that it was primed already.

I would use Behr Nano-guard ext. paint, water base, sold at Home Depot.

It has it's own primer in the paint and is totally awesome.

I work with paint everyday, at Home Depot. And have sold that brand of paint, to tons of customers and they do nothing but brag about the coverage and that fact that it holds up very well.

Also, sense there are about 700 shades of white, we have competitive colors from all other companies.

But Behr is known for their pure white, premixed, right off the shelf. If that's the shade you desire.

Be sure to use a medium sheen for mildew and mold, such as satin or semi gloss!

P.S. Behr is medium priced compared to the high dollar Benjamin-Moore or Sherman Williams. But as good or better as the contractors tell me.

Hope that helped you out!
depends on the look you're going for. if it is weathered and you want a more seaside, beachie look then i would stain it. if you want a smooth and solid suburbia look then paint it. one bit of advice, if you stain it first and don't like it you can still paint it, but if you paint it first and wish you would have stained it, you can't. good luck
Use a 100% acrylic latex primer then 2 top coats of 100% acrylic exterior Latex paint. DO NOT USE OILBASED PRIMER

What can I use to get year old paint off stairs? Also. what stain products work best?

You're going to have to approach this as any other wood stripping project. Get paint stripper and make sure to get in between the seams good. When the paint has been removed, use a fine grade steel wool to ';sand'; the wood. Wash down area to be stained really well to remove any paint particles, etc., as this WILL show up in your finished project. MinWax has some good products on the market and I have used them several times, although I am more pleased with Cabot stains. Good luck! What can I use to get year old paint off stairs? I've never used it, but I've heard that Goof Off is great on paint. It's cheap to buy at your local hardware store -- try it somewhere inconspicuous first to make sure it doesn't mess up your floor or carpet. What can I use to get year old paint off stairs? Also. what stain products work best?
If paint is on the carpet I'm not sure. If it is wood there's a product called Krud Killer which is very good.

As far as the best stain I endorse Minwax. It goes on very well and you can get the poly mixed with it.

Painting Sidewalk? Concrete paint? Acid wash? Stain? High traffic?

What's a good way to paint/stain/ or any way to rejuvenate the sidewalk? It's not city busy traffic but like little small town strip kind of traffic.

I was hoping we can paint the sidewalk to make it look fresher. Is there a good way? Thanks for any help.Painting Sidewalk? Concrete paint? Acid wash? Stain? High traffic?
Hello, You want to clean the concrete with TSP (Tri sodium Phosphate) and a stiff bristle brush. Any dirt left on the surface and you willl have poor paint adhesion. After which I would acid wash with a 1 to 4 solution of pool acid. 1 part pool acid to 4 parts water (apply this with the stiff bristle brush on a broom handle also). After which you need to rinse off with clean water to neutelize the acid. Let it dry completely. You can go to a paint store such as Pittsburgh paint or Sherwin williams and they will reccommend an exterior concrete stain for your project. I would not waste my time at Home Depot or the other home improvement stores. You want to go to a professional paint store for a good product and expert advise. TSP and Acid are fairly cheap. You want to spend a little extra on the paint (stain) and get a good quality product. I have done a couple of concrete surfaces with 1 part exterior flat paint to four gallons water repellent with good adhesion and wear quality. Good luck TerryPainting Sidewalk? Concrete paint? Acid wash? Stain? High traffic?
Is this city property? Because you can't fix or paint city property. If it isn't then Home Depot has new materials that you can use to refinish your existing concrete without pulling up the old and pouring new. They work really well but you have to have the knowledge and experience to use them. They also have concrete paint and stain. So if you want to resurface and then paint or stain. Or if you just want to paint or stain your existing concrete to rejuvenate it. These things are not real expensive either compared to pouring a new walk.

    Good luck
